Summer School in Visual Optics
9th AEGEAN SUMMER SCHOOL IN VISUAL OPTICS
July 5 – 8, 2010 Hersonissos, Heraklion - Crete, Greece
The Aegean Summer School in Visual Optics is an international course organised annually by the Institute of Vision and Optics (IVO), University of Crete.
The scientific program includes talks on current research topics in the field of “Visual Optics”. The presentations are given by the faculty of University of Crete and invited speakers with a significant experience in the field.
The Summer School is suitable for young Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, Opticians and Vision researchers with a backgroung in medicine, physics and mathematics, interested to get an in-depth multi-disciplinary knowledge in Visual Optics.
The program covers many aspects of basic and advanced research on Physiological and Visual Optics with an emphasis on:
- Refraction and ocular aberrations,
- Retinal image quality,
- Scattering in the eye,
- Crystalline lens and accommodation,
- Adaptive optics in vision research and ophthalmic imaging,
- Visual psychophysics
- Advances in spectacle, contact lens and intraocular lens design.
- Advances in the correction of Presbyopia
The abstract submission deadline for the Special Day - Quality of Vision and Refractive Surgery has been extended to June 21st, 2010
